Right...
The title says most of it.
I want each memebr to account for their characters in one post if possible.
Please list current skill in training, future goals perhaps.

To keep this post clean and shiny i want one post pr. member and then we just edit the individual post as you progress in the game.

Xyniia - Metallurgy 5 and then other pertinent industry skills. She has lots of industry skills (exhumers, science etc.)

Leon - Gallente Industrial 5 (so we can do covert ops transport jumps) Already have BS 5 most drone skills and missle skills 4 or 5. He pretty much ready for a carrier, just need capital ships. oh and some advanced spaceship levels. Got all the drone skills afaik Good at ECM too

Blindman081
trajectory analysis 3
assault ships 3
advanced weapon upgrades 3
assault ships 4
interceptors 5
assault ships 5
small blaster specialization 5
sharpshooter 5
surgical strike 5
trajectory analysis 4 & 5
advanced weapon upgrades 4 & 5

fuel conservation 5 - really was going to train this up but the effect is SO small that it really is not worth the 10 days to train it up.

Any suggestions to my plan here? This training regement will take me until 6/9/09 Laughing!!!

Ok Blind, here it is:
Trajectory analysis 4
Assault ships 4 (5 simply isn't worth it)
Advanced weapon upgrades: definitely 5
Interceptors: unless you're going for a career as an interceptor pilot I suggest leaving that at 4
Try to specialize in medium blasters and railguns. Seems like a lot of work but it's definitely worth it
Sharpshooter 5 (doh!)
Surgical strike 4 (don't go up to 5, the difference in dps in negligible)
Fuel conservation (like you said, it just isn't worth it)

Here's a few other helpful skills you could train:
-Gallente cruiser V and then heavy assault ship, heavy interdictor, logistics and recons. These are the most useful ships in the game. Sorry, but assault ships aren't (I like assault ships too and it breaks my heart, but it's true)
-Rapid firing V (or IV)
-Motion prediction V (or IV)
-Cynosural field theory I
-Hull upgrades V (I presume you've already got this one)
-Remote armor repair IV
-Informorph psychology III or IV

See what I did there? Smile I saved you half a year in useless training. You should thank me. As a matter of fact, no, I'll take it out of your wallet *rummages through Blind's wallet*

PostSubject: Re: Skill training progress   Mon Dec 29, 2008 7:12 am

So I dont need to train up small blasters to 5, Ill leave it at 4.

So my current line up is as follows:

Advanced Weapon Upgrades 4
Sharpshooter 5
Trajectory Analysis 4
Advanced Weapon Upgrades 5

And then what? I thought about doing Interdictors (Gallente Eris), or Heavy Interdictors, or even amarr combat recon ships (Curse). With all those skills being trained I will be done by 2/22/09.

I MAY transport my abaddon back to highsec or keep it here to run plexes with, because I made a NICE fit on an apoc (which I left the fit on my fathers computer DOH!) for pvp long range sniping. I mean thats WAY long term, I would like to train up something cruiser sized before I spend more time with battleships.

What do you think about command ships? Or something logistics? Give me ideas Very Happy

I've already gave you my opinion on interdictors/heavy interdictors.. They're worth the time/trouble and are fairly easy to train. With proper practice and mock battles you'll be our bubbler. Another great support vessel is logistics, especially the Basilisk. Again, the proper skills are fairly easy to advance to V (energy transfer and shield transfer), and with logistics to IV you'll master that ship as well.
Of course that means you will get very little damage done (none with logistics). If you want damage train for a HAC (eagle is an adequate choice if your mind is set on that - we'll find a role for that in a gang). Amarr curse requires a lot of cross training and is not worth it imo, although it is a very cool ship to fly.
Finally, if you don't have t2 large weapons trained, you should by all means do that. T2 ammo make a HUGE difference in pvp situations (sniper, close range) and T2 guns are very cheap to purchase compared to their meta4 T1 counterparts.
I understand the dilemma you're in right now. Lots of cool ships, lots of different roles and too little time. Don't do what I did with Bal (cross-trained till my eyes bled). I ended up being mediocre at everything but good at nothing. Do what I did with Niennor (all caldari, all up to battleships, specialization Electronic Warfare). She doesn't have any drone skills, but she's almost maxxed in missile warfare, navigation, ewar and can fly ANYTHING battleship and below that is caldari-made. I can't fly a very cool-looking abaddon, but then again, why would I need to?

Vilmalith
Can't remember what I was working on before I quit last time. So don't really have a plan yet, just finishing skills that had an amount done already and then I'll go from there.

Unless anyone has any ideas for me?

Vil, since you're a minmatar pilot, my suggestion is that you should focus on flying the vaga, the rapier and the sabre (interdictor). These are atm the most successful ships of the minmatar fleet and they're a valuable asset in any gang.

Sounds good - Interdictors to Heavy Assault Cruisers... but what should I be training so that I use the ships to my best ability?

For the interdictors is it just destroyers 5 and then interdictors 4 or 5? What is a good HAC other than the Eagle?? My thing is I am good with medium hybrid guns (small blasters specialization), small - medium - large energy guns and thats it - I have some defender missile skills but no missle skills other than that and no projectile skills.

Go for medium railgun specialization for a sniper eagle. For interdictors you don't need any skills other than a few rocket or standard missile spec to fill the high slots. Propulsion jamming should be at V naturally and check which skills you need for an interdiction sphere launcher. Also, all your shield skills should be at IV.

Ok so ill do the following:

destroyers 5
interdictors 4/5
Science 5
Graviton Physics 5
Rockets/ light or heavy Missiles 4 or 5 (actually have standard and heavy missiles at 3)
Small railgun specialization 4
medium blaster & railguns 4 or 5
then onto whatever I need to fly the eagle - caldari cruisers and HAC

Ok so what shield skills do you think I need to have at 4? Is it the em/kinetic/explosive/thermic shield compensation skills? Or shield emission systems, shield management, shield operation, or shield upgrades or tactical shield manipulation? And do I need these for the dictor or for the HAC??

Basically you don't need the shield emission skills. You certainly need the tactical shield manipulation to IV (for the t2 hardeners) and the shield upgrades (for the t2 shield extenders). Shield compensation skills are useless since you seldom use passive hardeners.
